BEACON gives Group Leaders access to information about their group, which they can edit, add to and keep up to date. The information that is placed on Beacon is reflected in the Members Portal which means members of all groups can access that information at any time.

The Members Portal gives access to useful information about activities in the u3a including a personal calendar. It has a utility where you can check and update, if necessary the information held on line. Members can change their passwords. It has a facility to renew membership and pay by credit card.

To access the portal, members will need to create an account. For this you will need to know the following information:

• Membership number (This was circulated recently)
• Forename
• surname
• Postcode
• Email address

Note: When 2 members share an email address and use the same password, they will be asked to identify which member is signing in by selecting from a drop-down list. Note: For security we recommend against sharing a password. We recommend that when 2 members share an email address, they use different passwords when registering to use the Members Portal.
