Previous Long Walks

On this page are listed the walks we have been on over the past 12 months. As time passes, we will add to the list and hope they encourage new members to join us. If you would like to plan and lead a walk, please contact the group co-ordinator, details at the bottom of this page.

November / December 2024

There was no long walk in November due to the walk leader being injured and therefore unable to lead. The next walk was led by Nigel Conradi on Tuesday, 3rd December.  It was a combined walk with the medium walks group proceeding the walks group Christmas lunch.  It started promptly at 9.15 to allowing walkers to go home and change before lunch.  The walk was an easy 5.3 mile circular walk starting at the car park on Hill Road. Watlington. The walk had no stiles and just one short sharp climb with the benefit of spectacular views when you reached the top. The walk went from the car park up to Watlington Park, through the woods to Christmas Common and a gentle decline back down Watlington Hill to the car park.

October 2024

The October walk was 7.4 miles from Princes Risborough led by Carole Rudston and was undertaken by 6 members of the group on a day of almost continual heavy rain that created some very atmospheric pictures but almost eliminated the great views we would have had on a clear day. Even though we were all very wet spirits were high and the walk was enjoyable!!!!

September 2024

The September walk was led by Nigel Conradi on Tuesday, 3rd. The walk was an easy 6.8 mile circular walk starting from the Chequers pub in Berrick Prior and  going to Brightwell Baldwin through Brightwell Park to Chalgrove and back across open country to The Chequers.

August 2024

The August walk was 6.5 miles from Lane End led by Peter Hetherington and was undertaken by 7 members of the group on a changeable day with some good views and a few hills.

July 2024

The July walk was 7.5 miles from Cuddesdon  led by Janet and Nigel Conradi and was undertaken by 6 members of the group on a fairly grey day but we still had some excellent views walking through some lovely open countryside and a good picnic stop at the church at Toot Baldon.

June 2024

The June walk was 7.5 miles from Shardeloes cricket club led by Jean Wadsworth and was undertaken by 7 members of the group who met a Gorilla in Little Missenden!!

May 2024

The May walk was 6.2 miles from Middle Assendon led by Carole Rudston and was undertaken by 11 members of the group on a day of good weather and sunshine.

April 2024

The walk from Berrick Prior had to be cancelled at the last minute following heavy rain resulting in footpaths looking like lakes and therefore impassable. A local substitute walk was offered from Chinnor to Wainhill, along the Ridgeway towards Princes Risborough back through Bledlow and on to Chinnor. The walk was greatly enjoyed by 11 walkers.
