Who is it for? OUT
Anyone who’s on their own, or who has a partner with different interests and would enjoy having company for outings or events.
Come and join us and enjoy good company and experience the many and varied activities we participate in.

What do we do? ABOUT
Meet up for things you might not want to do alone—such as restaurant or pub visits, theatre, museums, cinema, local arts events, or similar activities. As with the walking groups, members could offer lifts where possible.

How does it work? TOGETHER
The group is run via WhatsApp to keep things informal and spontaneous. Members can post when they’re planning to go somewhere and are looking for a companion—no fixed organiser needed.
If you are lonely or just want a bit of company to attend an event, this could be the group for you.
Since its launch, Out and About Together (OAT) has grown into a busy and vibrant group, with 56 members now enjoying the opportunity to get out and about together and make new connections. The beauty of OAT is that the possibilities are endless. Members decide what they would like to do and can invite others along. Outings have included a visit to see the beautiful daffodils at Adwell House, complete with a cream tea, a concert at Bledlow Church, a Bollywood evening at Bipuls, and simply meeting up for coffee at the Village Centre.
Sunday Lunch Club
The Sunday Lunch Club has proved particularly popular. Groups of up to 12 people meet regularly, usually every couple of weeks, and enjoy trying out different venues. So far, they have visited places including Grapes and Flavours, The Crown and The Peacock.
Theatre & Cinema
The Theatre and Cinema Group is also beginning to take off. One recent outing was to Shakespeare in the Garden, to see Romeo and Juliet held in the garden at the Rising Sun in Thame. OAT members are also getting together for local events, such as Chinnor Players to see 'Noises off!!. Members have also booked tables for the Sparkle Bingo Night and Grease V Dirty Dancing, being held by the Village Centre in the marquee on White's Field over the Bank Holiday weekend.
If you would like to join in, meet some like-minded members and see what OAT is all about, please contact Karin Dawson-Smith via the group link.
Please note: OAT is run through WhatsApp, which is an essential part of the group. It allows members to quickly and spontaneously contact others, suggest an outing or simply ask, “Is anyone free to come along?”
