Our book programme is compiled each autumn when Members are invited to suggest books that they would like to see included in the year’s programme . These suggestions are combined, a voting paper produced and circulated. Each Member is allowed up to 8 votes returning the paper to the Leader who then counts the entries and selects the most popular titles. The programme begins in January although produced and circulated during November the previous year – giving adequate time for everyone to obtain copies of the nominated books. Two of the books during the year will be Classic titles, 6 will be popular titles, the other 2 monthly meetings are “Members’ Choice” where no set book is set; instead we each make our own individual contribution; it might be a poem, a newspaper article or a book we have read which has inspired us to share it with others.
We have up to 12 Members in our Group, meeting on 4th Thursday of each month in the Chinnor Library, excluding December.
The next meeting is on Thursday 22nd January at 10:30 a.m. - The subject to be Middlemarch by George Eliot
- FEBRUARY 26th - Escape Artist (non fiction) by Jonathan Freeland
- MARCH 26th - Period Piece by Gwen Ravert
